L’Eggsperience di Zoe

When I began my internship at Eggers Lab 2.0, I was slightly nervous about adjusting to the Italian workplace environment; especially considering I do not speak Italian. I was also concerned about how much information I could learn in communications, marketing, and graphic design in such a brief period. Moving overseas for the summer was both exciting and frightening at the same time. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised with a wonderful summer internship.

When I first walked through the doors, I was greeted with “caio!” from several cheerful people. This was an everyday occurrence and usually included a round of espresso! The friendly nature of everyone at this workplace lifted my spirits, and I felt instantly included. I was given various projects that not only allowed me to show creativity, but also required critical thinking and collaboration for successful completion. Each member of the Eggers team provided their own unique perspective and skills. With all these new wheels spinning, my apprehensions began to disappear within a few days.

Throughout my internship with Eggers, I had the opportunity to learn and perform a variety of briefs, templates, analysis, and tables for major brands known around the world. Also, the other “Eggs” and I would collaborate to form new innovative ideas for these enterprises and their exclusive events. This collaboration strengthened my understanding of the operations of a high-end communication agency such as Eggers and provided a greater discernment of how I can apply these concepts in my future career endeavors.

Eggers has not only showed me the details of their creative dynamics of the Italian work environment, but also what it means to be part of an uplifting group of people. Aside from all the projects and briefs, Eggers is truly a place of family-like support, encouragement, and fortitude. When I was experiencing personal obstacles abroad, the people of Eggers were constantly there for me and brought lightheartedness into the situation. If I had to describe Eggers in five words, they would be – innovative, inspiring, unique, tenacious, and optimistic. Overall, Eggers has truly given me the most rewarding and unique EGGSperience.
